Sandwell Youth Hub

Sandwell Youth Hub works with young people aged 18-24, who are referred by the Job Centre.

In partnership with DWP Work coaches, YMCA mentors within Youth Hubs have a primary focus of addressing key barriers that are currently preventing young people from finding and keeping employment, which may include:

  • improving resilience, confidence and employability skills
  • support accessing volunteering, work experience or apprenticeships
  • accessing training and further education opportunities
  • improving mental health and wellbeing
  • understanding opportunities available in the local area

The ultimate goal of our Youth Hub is to help clients develop their full potential and secure a job they love. The Youth Hub will compliment and collaborate with existing services providing work readiness in the following areas:

  • CV writing techniques
  • Interview techniques
  • Job application support
  • Universal credit awareness
  • Signposting to literacy, numeracy and IT
