The Glebe Centre

The Glebe Centre is a multi-functional hub supporting vulnerable adults in Walsall.

From our centre close to Walsall town centre, staff and volunteers work with individuals who have differing, complex, needs and the Centre provides a combination of both support services and practical facilities.

At the Glebe, service users present to us with an array of issues and can be:

  • Rough Sleepers
  • Homeless
  • Insecurely Housed
  • Drug Users
  • Alcohol Users

Activities on offer at The Glebe Centre

Support Workers are available to work with Service Users regarding benefits claims, housing advice, general support and with any other relevant issues they may present to us with.

Every day, we run a Cook & Eat session to give service users the confidence and knowledge in preparing a healthy meal for themselves. Lunch at the Centre is free when an individual engages with us.

We serve a 2 course meal every weekday and free hot drinks are available to Service Users throughout the course of the day with no limit on the amount of times they can access this provision.

In terms of practical support to meet some of the needs of our Service Users, we provide a laundry service, where Rough Sleepers can get their clothing washed and dried for free, we provide access to free shower facilities, and we provide clean towels and toiletries at no charge to Service Users. We also provide free clothing for Service Users who have a genuine need for these items.

We deliver a number of varied low level diversionary activities throughout the week to engage and occupy Centre users such as arts and crafts activities, film afternoons, games afternoons and debate sessions on interesting and relevant topics.

Background Image

The Glebe Centre has always been dependant on the support of the local community in order to function.

Without the generous donations of individuals, local churches and various organisations we would be unable to provide a service at all. Almost all of our physical resources, such as food, cleaning products, new clothing and toiletries are donated, and without cash donations we would be unable to buy our frozen food provisions, or the various other items we need in order to facilitate the day-to-day running of the Centre.
