Christian Mission

YMCA support staff and service users to think through life’s big questions.

YMCA Christian Mission seeks to help all of our staff and service users to understand, engage with and explore the importance of spiritual health. We do this in a number of ways including regular monthly prayer meetings, devotional activities and Christian retreat opportunities both in the UK and further afield.

Much of our Christian Mission activity involves partnering with local churches and ecumenical Christian networks both locally and nationally. We thrive in partnership with others and are privileged to work alongside Love Black Country, Sandwell Churches Link and Love Wolverhampton.

How you can get involved in YMCA's Christian Mission work

YMCA Chaplaincy Services are an important part of our Christian Mission work.

The YMCA Chaplaincy Team are all practising Christians who offer support, advice and the chance to explore emotional and spiritual issues to everyone – regardless of their background or beliefs.

Our Chaplains can often be seen wandering around our YMCA sites in their yellow hoodies and are always happy to talk with you informally. Feel free to stop them and ask for a chat, or contact us to book an appointment.

Maybe you believe you have what it takes to join us as a YMCA volunteer chaplain, scroll down to learn more and apply.

YMCA Black Country Group are committed to partnering with local churches to extend God’s Kingdom across the Black Country and South Staffs.

Our vision is to train and support volunteer chaplains from local congregations to serve in YMCA nurseries and housing programs close to their location, bringing pastoral care to the young people in our community.

As the world’s largest youth organisation with deep Christian roots, our mission aligns with the church’s vision to transform lives through Christ. Together, we can explore new ways to collaborate, building meaningful relationships and shaping a brighter future for youth across the Black Country, grounded in shared values and a heart for God’s work.

Get in touch for a coffee and let’s explore how we can work together.
