Our project relies on volunteers to support the day-to-day running of our programme of free activities. The typical duties of a volunteer include: greeting young people and families to the session, offering drinks and refreshments, support with running activities and getting involved to build confidence and relationships with the young people.
Volunteers receive training on safeguarding, mentoring, communication etc to make sure they can do their job with confidence, whilst also being support by YMCA staff. There is also opportunity for additional training which can be requested by volunteers to help them improve the activities on offer, such as food hygiene or football refereeing.
YMCA are now recruiting Volunteer Mentors and Activity Assistants, for more information please register your interest and our team will contact you with more details.
